Radio 702 is a radio station owned by Primedia, first established in 1980. It began as a music station, changing in 1988 to the talk radio format. During the apartheid era, it was one of the few South African radios broadcasting independent news.
Its informative format still stands today and its mirrored by its line-up containing several news programmes throughout the day, as well as controversial and independent programmes that discuss in-depth the main issues concerning society and the world.

Radio 702 broadcasts from Johannesburg to the greater province of Gauteng. In its website, it also allows people from all over the world to listen live to its broadcast through live streaming and it offers access to the podcasts of its main programmes.
